The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin states 8 truths of happiness. I dare you to take action in this happiness project! Here are 8 truths with a dare with each one. How many can you fulfill?
Truth: “To be happier, you have to think about feeling good, feeling bad, and feeling right, in an atmosphere of growth.”
Dare: Create an atmosphere of growth! Create an open atmosphere with an informal start of the day. Let each other know what is going on and where pressure points are rising. Make it fun by starting a little game (for example: state 3 lines: one of them is a lie and 2 of them are the truth; your colleagues have to find the lie. Good luck!
Truth: “One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy. One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.”
Dare: Give at least 3 compliments to your colleagues. Be sincere and be true.
Truth: “The days are long, but the years are short.”
Dare: Sometimes there are days at work when you wish it was 5 o’clock already. Use this days to surprise your team members. Make a healthy fruit salad, bake a cake, bring candy or get ice cream for the entire office! Make someones day and you will get your day made in return.
Truth: “You’re not happy unless you think you’re happy.”
Dare: Choose your attitide! Start your day by sharing a positive thought with the first one you see.
Truth: “I can build a happy life only on the foundation of my own nature.”
Dare: Be there, be authentic. Think about who you really are – what is your own nature? State 3 keywords about your desired experience and with every project, every telephone call, every mail you send think about – connects this with how I want to be seen?
Truth: “The only person I can change is myself.”
Dare: Yep, it is only you. Be the start in the way you want to be treated. When you cannot change anything, just accept, let it go – but if you can change anything, just do it! The dare is to give somebody feedback. Let your colleague, SO, friend, family member know how they make you feel. It can be positive or negative.
Truth: “Happy people make people happy, but I can’t make someone be happy, and no one else can make me happy.”
Dare: So start being happy! Let your smile show, make fun, make someone laugh – and the happiness will spread. Start sharing your joke of the day. Make pranks and play!
Truth: “Now is now.”
Dare: Don’t procrastinate happiness. Do it today! Start now.
